Для столь крупного шрифта и выключки строк с двух сторон
колонки узковаты даже в самой широкой части.

Об этом свидетельствуют «дурные» межсловные пробелы.

При сужении проблема усугубляется, что, видимо,
не только не беспокоило, но и входило в задачу оформителя

журнала по типографике. -*
