drian Frutiger is an internationally renowned typog¬
rapher and the designer of several well-known type¬
faces, including Frutiger and Univers; he also pioneered
the first phototype faces. He has developed logotypes
and house styles for various international organisations,
including the complete public sign system, in 1970, for
Charles de Gaulle Airport, Paris. He has also published
widely on graphics and typography including Signs and
Symbols (Studio Editions, 1989).
