The calligraphic swash typeface Zapfino
by Hermann Zapf may look classical, but it
innovatively uses the possibilities of the
computer. The script typeface consists
of four different alphabets: one basic alphabet
with titling and old style figures, ligatures
and swash characters, alphabets with
decorative capitals, variants of the lowercase
letters, and extra characters. All alphabets
can be combined with each other, making
an individual calligraphic form emerge.

Linotype Univers
40 years after the original design of Univers, which has
meanwhile become a classic, its creator Adrian Frutiger and
the experts at Linotype Library have reworked the typeface
completely and expanded it to 59 weights. Nevertheless, this
diversity is simple to master. A new numbering system allows
optimal organization of the four widths and nine stroke weights
from Ultra Light Condensed to Extra Black Extended. The first
number indicates the weight, the second the width, and the
last the position. Within a specific stroke weight, the different
widths can be combined without problems because all of the
forms coordinate with each other. The Univers poster shows
an overview of all the new Univers weights and their organisation
